Shivaratri is the holy night of Shiva. In Vedic astrology the moon represents the mind. Only during the night of Shivaratri is the moon at its weakest point, being only at 1/16th of its total size. Thus this is the best time to go beyond the mind and fully commune with spirit.  We will tell stories, sing kirtan, share inspiration, Indian ceremonies (Puja, Aarathi, Dharshan, etc.), group activities, chanting of “Aum Namah Shivaya” and periods of meditation. Shiva helps us to transform and purify parts of ourselves that we want to let go of, that no longer serve us, transforming old habits or purifying our hearts from past pain. He has the power to lift the veil of delusion and let us see clearly and intuitively where the right path lies.  Ananda NYC Address: 137 E 29th St. #6D (between Lexington and 3rd Ave.)
