Before I met Ananda I was Buddhist. Meditation to me was a very mental practice that rarely engaged my heart. I knew I should meditate and that it was good for me but it was intellectual rather than experiential knowledge.

I had heard about kriya yoga and how it is the fastest path to ascension. I researched it online and found an Ananda group close to where I was living. They had just started Level 1 meditation class and I decided to join.

The first time I heard them singing and playing the harmonium I was so moved it brought me to tears. Even when my meditations were restless, I felt joy doing them. Devotion rose in my heart, something that was quite new to me and that would change my life forever.

I often hear people complaining about the lack of purpose in their lives. I was like that for so long but now I feel I found my place. Words cannot describe the fulfillment these Masters and teachings have given me. When I’m at Ananda, I feel my soul is at home.

This year is the tenth anniversary that I became Paramhansa Yogananda’s disciple. My devotion for him and his path is stronger than ever. May all beings feel the ever new joy that awaits inside them!
